The Final Word Release Notes

What changed in each version of the mastering limiter, and what it means when you are working.

1.1.3

Released 1 October 2026

A maintenance release refining true-peak accuracy and peak-mode limiting.

  • True Peak. True-peak protection is now continuous and ceiling-accurate at every block size, replacing a prior design that could step briefly on sustained low-frequency material at a host's block boundary. The Ceiling shown is the true-peak limit actually enforced.
  • Peak-mode limiting. In Peak detection mode, the limiter now looks ahead using its own Lookahead setting to anticipate the gain reduction a sustained tone will need, instead of reacting only after the signal arrives — removing unnecessary safety-stage clipping on sustained material.
  • Input handling. Protection against invalid (NaN/Infinity) input now covers all non-finite values, extending 1.1.2's NaN-only containment.
  • Latency. Reported plug-in latency increases by 78 samples versus 1.1.2, at every Lookahead/Oversampling/True Peak setting — a small, fixed increase from the improved True Peak stage. Sessions using automatic delay compensation re-latch on their own; if you've manually offset tracks around The Final Word's latency, re-check that offset.

Parameters, presets and saved-session compatibility are unchanged. Existing projects open normally.

1.1.2

Released 24 September 2026

A maintenance release refining Punchy Character and workflow clarity. No parameter, preset, state or latency change.

  • Punchy Character. Now responds to actual sustained energy growth rather than crest factor, preserving steady material more cleanly while real transients keep their impact; its shaping curve no longer folds back on extreme input.
  • Input handling. NaN input is now contained before it can affect processing.
  • Interface. Header workflow controls (Undo/Redo, preset strip, A/B, Bypass) read more clearly; the Output and True Peak meter captions are centered on the meters they name.

Normal limiter audio, parameters, presets and saved-session compatibility are unchanged. Existing projects open normally.

Existing owners can download 1.1.2 from the original Lemon Squeezy download link in their purchase email.

1.1.1

Released 18 September 2026

A maintenance update improving metering accuracy, monitoring alignment and licensing reliability. Normal limiter processing is unchanged.

  • Metering. Improved the accuracy and consistency of Integrated and Short-Term LUFS, TRUE PEAK and PSR.
  • Monitoring. Corrected timing alignment for DAW bypass and Delta monitoring across Oversampling settings.
  • Licensing. Improved reliability and smoothness when the licence state changes.

Normal limiter audio, parameters, presets and saved-session compatibility are unchanged. Existing projects open normally.

Existing owners can download 1.1.1 from the original Lemon Squeezy download link in their purchase email.

1.1.0

Released 8 September 2026

A focused update to true-peak handling, monitoring and day-to-day workflow.

  • True Peak. Refined final-output true-peak protection and metering. With True Peak enabled, the Ceiling is enforced against reconstructed true peaks; with it disabled, the Ceiling applies to sample peaks, while the true-peak meters continue to show reconstructed output peaks either way.
  • Auto Release. Improved adaptive release behavior on dense and sustained material. Auto Release continues to work across a 100–600 ms range.
  • Gain Match. Corrected level-matching for more reliable comparisons between the source and the fully processed result.
  • Bypass. Improved transition behavior for cleaner switching in and out of processing.
  • Metering & interface. Refined meter scaling and spacing, clearer Ceiling reference presentation, and general typography and sizing polish.
  • Tooltips & User Guide. Expanded plain-language guidance throughout the interface, with direct access to the new User Guide from the About panel.
  • Maintenance. Additional stability and workflow refinements.

Existing owners can download 1.1.0 from the original Lemon Squeezy download link in their purchase email.
