Overview

Mainline Audio LLC ("Mainline Audio," "we," "us") operates mainline-audio.com, including the product pages for The Final Word. This policy explains what information is collected on this site, how we use it, and where a third-party service is responsible instead of us.

Information You Provide Directly

If you use a contact or mailing-list form on this site, you provide your name, email address, and any optional details you choose to add (for example, your DAW or a link to a track). Forms on this site are delivered through Formspree, a third-party form-delivery service, directly to Mainline Audio's inbox. We use this information to respond to you and, if you signed up for updates, to follow up about The Final Word. If you'd rather not be contacted again, email support@mainline-audio.com and we'll remove your information from our records.

Purchases and the 14-Day Demo

Buying The Final Word or downloading the free 14-day demo happens entirely on Lemon Squeezy's own checkout pages, not on mainline-audio.com. Lemon Squeezy collects your email address (and, for a paid purchase, your payment details) directly, to process the order, issue a license where applicable, and email you download access. Mainline Audio does not receive or store your payment card details — Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for these transactions. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms.

License Activation & Validation

Separately from the website checkout described above, the licensing system built into applicable Mainline Audio DSP software — currently The Final Word, The Fine Line, and The Focal Point — communicates directly with Lemon Squeezy, the same company that processes your purchase, to activate and validate your license from inside the plugin. When you activate a license, the plugin sends your license key and a computer/instance name (derived from your Mac's computer name) to Lemon Squeezy's licensing service. When the plugin later checks that a license is still valid, or when you deactivate a computer, it sends your license key and the corresponding license instance identifier that Lemon Squeezy issued at activation. This information is used to activate your license, confirm it's still valid, and manage the computers you're permitted to activate — including deactivating one to free up an activation elsewhere. These plugins do not send your email address in their activation, validation, or deactivation requests, and do not use the customer email information returned by Lemon Squeezy's licensing service. As with any request made over the internet, Lemon Squeezy can observe ordinary connection information such as the IP address the request came from. Some licensing and evaluation-period information — including your license credentials — may be stored locally on your Mac, using secure credential storage where appropriate, so the software can recognize your license without contacting the server every time.

The Final Word also checks periodically for software updates by requesting a small file from mainline-audio.com. The request does not deliberately include your license key, licensing identifiers, or other personal information in its URL or request payload.

Information Collected Automatically

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most hosting providers, GitHub may log standard technical information (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operational purposes, described in GitHub's own Privacy Statement. Mainline Audio does not separately access or analyze this data.

This site does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other behavioral-tracking scripts, and does not set its own cookies. Some pages use your browser's local storage to remember background-music playback settings (like volume and which track was playing) so the audio player can resume between visits — this information stays on your own device and is never sent to Mainline Audio.

Do Not Track & Browser Privacy Signals

This site does not currently change its behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track setting or a Global Privacy Control signal. There's no first-party tracking here to turn off in the first place — Mainline Audio doesn't run its own advertising or behavioral-tracking technology on this site. Third-party services or embedded content (see below) may independently collect information according to their own privacy practices, which this site doesn't control and isn't able to override.

Third-Party Content on This Site

  • The Music page embeds Spotify players. Loading one connects your browser directly to Spotify, under Spotify's Privacy Policy.
  • Some pages load the Satoshi typeface from Fontshare, a third-party font-hosting service.
  • Some pages load a waveform-display script from a public code CDN.

These are independent services; their own privacy practices, not this policy, govern what they collect.

Service Providers, Selling & Advertising

To operate this site, respond to you, and let you buy or demo The Final Word, we do transmit the information described above to the service providers involved in each step — for example, a form submission is sent through Formspree to reach us, and a purchase or demo checkout is sent to Lemon Squeezy to process the order and deliver access. That's necessary service-provider processing, not sharing with unrelated third parties, and it's limited to what each provider needs to do its job.

Separately: Mainline Audio does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.

Retention

We keep messages submitted through our forms for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and keep basic business records, and delete them on request. Third-party services retain data under their own policies, which we don't control.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information sent to us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee it.

Your Choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, or ask us not to contact you again, by emailing support@mainline-audio.com. For information handled directly by Lemon Squeezy — such as order or payment records — contact Lemon Squeezy or use the request process described in their own Privacy Policy.

California Residents

If you're a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding personal information collected about you, depending on whether Mainline Audio meets the Act's applicability thresholds. As stated above, Mainline Audio does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a privacy request, email support@mainline-audio.com.

International Users

Mainline Audio does not maintain an EU-based representative or Data Protection Officer. If you're located outside the United States and choose to submit information to us directly, understand it will be processed in the United States. Purchases made through Lemon Squeezy are subject to Lemon Squeezy's own international data-transfer practices, described in their Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

This site and The Final Word are aimed at professional and hobbyist audio engineers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@mainline-audio.com and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site or our products change. The effective date above reflects the most recent update.
