The Spark Plug Release Notes

What changed in each version of the three-band harmonic saturator, and what it means when you are working.

1.0.1

Released 2 October 2026

A maintenance release adding the in-app update check and fixing two Solo-related issues. No parameter, preset, saved-state, or latency change.

  • Update check. Adds the standard in-plugin update check and an UPDATE AVAILABLE badge in the header.
  • Auto Gain & Solo. Corrected Auto Gain so, while Solo is active, it compares the same audible soloed signal before and after processing, instead of comparing a soloed sum against the full un-soloed mix.
  • Solo notice. Replaced the overlapping "SOLO ON / DRY BLEND OFF" status with a single "DRY BLEND OFF" notice in its own reserved space.

Existing owners can download 1.0.1 from the original Lemon Squeezy download link in their purchase email.

1.0.0

Released 23 September 2026

The first release of The Spark Plug, a three-band harmonic saturation plug-in.

  • Three Bands. Low, Mid and High, each with its own Character, Drive and Mix, split at two crossover points you set.
  • Four Characters. Soft, Warm, Punchy and Vintage — four harmonic curves per band, chosen independently rather than once for the whole signal.
  • Auto Gain & Global Mix. Optional level matching for the whole signal, off by default, plus a single Global Mix control blending the three driven bands against the original program.
  • Workflow. A factory preset bank, user presets, A/B comparison, undo and redo, and a host-visible bypass.

The Spark Plug is available now. Buy Now or download the 14-Day Demo from its product page.
